Champagne and weddings

Champagne has long been associated with celebrations and there is no drink more synonymous with wedding celebrations than the sparkling gold from the champagne region of France.
I am often asked “what is the best Champagne to serve at our wedding?”
I guess the simple answer is – the sparkling that you enjoy the most and fits your budget.
If we wanted to look a little deeper at Champagne and sparkling wines there are a huge variety to choose from and the choice can be daunting. Australia is now ranked number 7 in the world for consumption of Champagne. Helped along by Australia’s strong economy and the ongoing effects of the GFC on Europe’s financial position we have seen an 11.2 percent increase in champagne imports over the last 12 months. As a nation we drank 5.4 million bottles of champagne last year.
